When she graduated in 1992 Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard started her career in commercial seafood in 1999, when she started working aboard the F/V Sunset 65' halibut schooner turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. She has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard got married to Aritan in 1999. The pair have come together in fighting for their company. They are supporters of conservative and profitable renewable seafood resource management.
